lyrics

The lights shine on First Avenue
And the faces are aglow
The children's hearts anticipate
The coming of the snow
Peace, goodwill to humankind
The desire to forgive
This baby born of Heaven offers life

And amidst the drunken revelry
A day of hope has come
Don't push this child of grace too far from home
And beyond the season's busyness
A new star shines for us
Open arms, embrace the Son
Open arms, embrace the Son of love

Who is missing from your Christmas?
Feel an absence in your home
While parcels sit beneath the tree
Whose presence is unknown?
The hidden entity of Xmas
Where could He have gone?
This holiday commemorates His birth

And amidst the drunken revelry
A day of hope has come
Don't push this child of grace too far from home
And beyond the season's busyness
A new star shines for us
Open arms, embrace the Son
Open arms, embrace the Son of love

Distant church bells loudly ring
Sweet angelic choirs sing
Christmas time is here again
Time to celebrate the birth of a King
